Playing Fields and Recreation Ground adjacent to the Village Hall

The Woolpit Recreation Ground Charity RCN 274791 was created in 1963 when it took a lease from the parish council of the recreation ground next to the village hall. The charity later purchased the playing fields which are now home to the thriving cricket and tennis clubs.

In 2021 the parish council became the sole trustee of the charity. The parish council had for sometime supported the charity financially.

The new playground is very popular! This has provided a great opportunity for our youngsters this summer.

The Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) is well used. This ball court provides a host of sports/games all in one place: football, basketball,  the options are endless. Thanks goes to Michael Hardiman who kept this project going despite financial and pandemic setbacks.

The football goal mouth and protective netting have been renovated. Please respect them.
